Staying as a family: what makes an apartment liveable
Three bedrooms, a kitchen, and somewhere the children can run. The rest is comfort.
A family stay is judged on the empty hours, not the outings. The question is not what you will do on Tuesday afternoon. It is where the children will be between lunch and dinner when it rains.
Three things settle most of it. A kitchen that lets you cook proper meals on the children's schedule rather than a restaurant's. Separate bedrooms, so staggered bedtimes do not end the adults' evening. And secure outdoor space, where you can let go of a hand without watching the road.
The pool takes up a good share of the time, of course, but covered space matters just as much in the wet season. An indoor sports floor, a wide corridor, a room that happens to be free: those are the surfaces that rescue a late afternoon.
Practically, check the laundry situation before booking. With children, a washing machine in the apartment is worth more than an extra bedroom, and it cuts the outbound luggage sharply.
Finally, ask about the occupancy limit rather than assuming it. Our apartments take six people and up to five children; asking at the booking stage avoids an unwelcome surprise on arrival.
